Finnish Researchers Develop Promising Cancer Treatment Method

A team at the University of Helsinki has synthesised a protein that inhibits the growth and spread of cancer cells by depriving tumours of blood and oxygen.

The method arrests the development of blood vessels that are vital for tumours’ survival. Tumours cease to grow and may stop developing altogether when the flow of oxygen and nutrients is inhibited.
