i(2)YI’M TOO YOUNG FOR THIS! Here’s the deal – There are tons of fantastic support services out there with programs just for adolescents and young adults and we’re going to tell you about them because no one else does—not your doctor, your hospital…not even the mighty Internet. Why? We don’t know. Besides, who has the time to search? You’ve got cancer!!

i[2]y is a hip national lifestyle brand that is being recognized as the next big thing in Web2.0 and Health2.0.

By converging social media with youth culture, cancer advocacy and music, i[2]y has quickly earned the respect of the oncology community and garnered international accredidation throughout the cancer continuum.

70,000 Americans between 15-40 are diagnosed with cancer each year and 10,000 will not survive, numbers 7x greater than those in pediatrics. Unlike other age groups, these stats have not improved in 30 years.

There has been no improvement in the 5-year survival of young adults since 1976.

This is not OK. Young adults face unique issues that are not currently being met by the current continuum of care including fertility, isolation, insurance, dating/sexuality, financial assistance, education, employment and age-appropriate peer support such as social networking, both off and online.

At i[2]y you can find incredible opportunities like weekend spa retreats, online forums and blogs, social networks, camping excursions, fertility education, peer counseling, college scholarships, financial aid, happy hours and more! (Basically, all the things you never knew you always wanted—oh, and they’re free!)

What’s more, many of the organizations who provide these services were founded by young adult survivors like you so they know what they’re doing and can totally relate to what you’re going through!

So stop searching and start connecting with thousands of others just like you. So now when you scream, “I’M TOO YOUNG FOR THIS!”, at least you’ll know you’re not alone.

Feeling isolated? At i[2]y you can connect with hundreds of age-appropriate resources and open the door to socially network with countless thousands of young adult survivors and caregivers.

Here you will find young adult support, general cancer support, scholarships & financial aid, excursions & retreats, forums & chat rooms, social networking, young adult blogosphere, coping literature, books, mags, films and media, advocacy tools, cancer creative resources.

There’s over a million of young adults with cancer in the US right now. So welcome to your life + cancer; where remission is not a cure and survivorship is all that matters. Now get busy living!
