NEW YORK, NY – The Cancer Vixen Fund, founded by cancer-survivor, author and cartoonist Marisa Acocella Marchetto, hosted “The 3rd Annual No Breast Left Behind Gala,” a fabulous fundraiser to benefit uninsured and underinsured women.
This year Evelyn Lauder received the Cancer Vixen Fund’s fabulous first annual Shoe Award, created by artist/sculptor Lauri Panopoulos.
As a breast cancer survivor, Evelyn Lauder, the Estee Lauder executive, was honored as the Patron Saint of Breast Cancer for her tremendous efforts to raise awareness of the disease.
$150,000 in proceeds were raised from the evening and will benefit the Cancer Vixen Fund, which sponsors free mammogram screenings for uninsured and underinsured women in New York City through Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers (Saint Vincent’s.)
The fundraising event was one of the top charitable events in NYC this fall with leaders from business, healthcare, politics, entertainment and sports all coming together to help.
The evening was hosted by T.V. personality, designer and celebrity stylist, Robert Verdi, CNN Anchor Alina Cho and “the original Cancer Vixen” Marisa Acocella Marchetto.
