My daughter who was diagnosed with stage 2 breast carcinoma has
been undergoing treatment at SKM. It has been a nightmare. The office staff cares nothing about her problems. They have messed up her appointments and test requirements. We have waited over 5 hours to receive her treatment. She is nothing more than a number; a piece of flesh going through the horrible chemotherapy cycles with no concern by anyone on the staff. I wish I could bring her home to my town where the oncologists really care about the patient. She might be getting the best protocol, but she is not getting the best care. If you are a standard protocol treatment patient, think long and hard before you get into the impersonal care of SKM. Your own hometown oncologists may be just as qualified and much more caring.

My family has had the same experience with MMSK that Cynthia described. Doctors are extremely arrogant and never return phone calls and office staff is rude. The hospital claims they have a special team approach, but never explains how that works to the family. You have to find out for yourself, after getting passed off from doctor to doctor, which doctor on the team you should be talking to about what. If you want to be treated as a patient, and not a number, and your treatment will follow normal protocol, stay away from MMSK.
