In 2009, for The Cancer Vixen Fundraiser in New York City, one of our editors, Lauri Panopoulos, had the honor of designing and creating the first annual “Shoe Award”. The award was a sculptural shoe presented to Mrs. Lauder for her humanitarian efforts. The fundraiser, created by Marisa Acocella Marchetto was created to benefit uninsured and underinsured women and is one of the top charitable fall events in NYC with leaders from business, healthcare, politics, entertainment and sports all coming together to help raise money.
