I am the author of two books on cancer. Cancer: The Complete Recovery Guide (aka The BIG Book) and Cancer Recovery Guide: 15 Alternative and Complementary Strategies for Restoring Health (aka The Little Book). The Big Book is the book I wish I'd had when Bernadette, my wife, was diagnosed with cancer in 1993. It would have helped us negotiate many of the problems that we crashed straight into. In addition to my cancer books I have written on Chinese folk religion (Chinese Gods) and a memoir of a Chinese playboy, gambler, kung fu fighter, would be criminal mastermind, collaborator with the Japanese during WWII and CIA spy (King Hui: The Man who Owned all the Opium in Hong Kong). On top of that, I have founded two charities for families with mentally handicapped children The Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association and Mental Handicap Network China.
